Boundary Script Starter Vault

20 ready-to-use responses for protecting your time, energy, capacity, and peace.

Before you borrow the words

A script is a starting point. The boundary is what you do next.

Use these words as written or adjust them until they sound like you. The goal is not to produce the perfect sentence. The goal is to communicate the limit clearly enough that you can stop explaining and start honoring it.

Direct“I cannot take that on.”Use when the answer is settled.
Warm“I appreciate you thinking of me. I cannot take that on.”Use when warmth matters, but the answer is still settled.
Limited Yes“I can help with X, but I cannot do Y.”Use only when you genuinely want to offer defined support.
Your no does not require a closing argument.

Make it yours

Build the boundary before you need it.

Prepare the words while your nervous system is calm. Then decide what you will do if the limit is ignored.

I am not available for ____________. I can ____________. If the pattern continues, I will ____________.

Say it once out loud. Remove every apology you do not mean. Remove every detail that invites debate. Keep the sentence that tells the truth.

The next step

Scripts help you speak. A system helps you stop abandoning yourself.

If guilt, over-explaining, and pushback keep pulling you out of your own boundary, take the next step inside the N.O.P.E. Method Intensive.

Your peace is not a luxury. Your capacity is not a suggestion. Your no does not require a closing argument.
